01Lockhart Gap
One of the scenic viewpoints on the Munnar–Thekkady side of the route. The area around Lockhart is surrounded by tea estates and mountain valleys, making it a useful photography stop before continuing toward the lower hill ranges. Visibility depends on weather and cloud conditions.
02Lockhart Tea Garden
Travel through tea-growing landscapes around Lockhart and the surrounding estates. This is more about the journey and landscape than a fixed-ticket attraction, so suitable roadside viewpoints can be used for photographs where stopping is safe and permitted.
03Lockhart Tea Factory
A tea-factory visit can be added when visitor access is available. Factory entry is subject to the individual facility's operating arrangements and should be confirmed before making it a fixed part of your itinerary. Any factory-specific admission or activity charge is separate from the taxi fare.
04Periyakanal Waterfall
Periyakanal Waterfall is located on the Munnar–Thekkady route toward Anayirankal and is particularly attractive when water flow is good. The waterfall experience can vary significantly with rainfall and season. During heavy rain, road and access conditions can also change.
05Anayirankal Dam
Anayirankal is surrounded by tea plantations and mountain scenery and is known for its reservoir landscape. Boating may be available as a separate activity depending on current operating conditions. The reservoir area can also offer opportunities to see local wildlife, but wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
06Anayirankal Tea Country
The road around Anayirankal provides a different view of Munnar's landscape, with tea estates and forested hills gradually giving way to the plantation country toward Thekkady. This is one reason the Munnar–Thekkady drive works well as a sightseeing transfer rather than simply a point-to-point journey.
07Spice Garden
As you approach Thekkady/Kumily, you can consider adding a spice-garden visit to your itinerary. Spice gardens are operated separately, so the current garden, visiting hours, admission and activities should be confirmed before booking.
08Chathurangapara Jeep Safari

If you want to add an off-road experience, Chathurangapara Jeep Safari can be considered separately where available. The Jeep Safari is not included in the Munnar–Thekkady taxi fare. Safari availability and activity charges should be confirmed separately.

How far is it — and how long does it take?
The road distance varies depending on the exact route and destination point within Thekkady/Kumily. Current route sources place the road journey broadly in the mid-80s to around 100 km, depending on the route used. A direct drive is considerably shorter than a sightseeing journey.
A non-stop road journey can take a few hours depending on the route, road conditions and traffic. A sightseeing transfer takes longer because of the stops — Lockhart Gap, waterfall stops, Anayirankal, tea-estate viewpoints, food breaks, photography and optional activities. For this reason, we recommend planning the Munnar–Thekkady transfer as a scenic travel day, rather than using a fixed drive-time promise.
